How to Deactivate Your Facebook Account—A Quick Guide

In today’s fast-paced digital world, taking a break from social media can feel refreshing. If you're thinking about stepping away from Facebook for a while without permanently deleting your account, deactivating it is a smart move. Here’s a quick and easy guide on how to do it.

What Happens When You Deactivate Facebook?

  • Your profile becomes invisible to others.

  • Your photos, posts, and friends list are hidden (but not deleted).

  • You can still use Messenger (optional).

  • You can reactivate anytime by simply logging back in.
  • Log in to your Facebook account.

  • Click the down arrow (top-right corner) and go to Settings & Privacy > Settings.

  • From the left menu, click Your Facebook Information.

  • Select Deactivation and Deletion.

  • Choose Deactivate Account and click Continue to Account Deactivation.

  • Follow the on-screen instructions and confirm.
That’s it! Your account is now hidden, and you can take your digital detox in peace.
